The Community Health Worker Certificate is jointly sponsored by City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University.

How much will I earn in this career?

The starting salary for a Health Worker I at the San Francisco Department Public Health is $28-34,000 and full benefits. Health Worker IIs make $32-39,000. The San Francisco Dept. of Health accepts Certificate completion as a minimum qualification for the civil service Health Worker positions. CHWs who work for community based organizations generally make somewhat less.
